It’s been a crazy couple of weeks around here, culminating in the release of Unshakeable on Tuesday!! I’ve been overwhelmed with many feelings and emotions over the last few days, but the overarching feeling is one of gratitude. I’m so thankful for how the body of Christ has come together to get the word out about this music. I’m so thankful to my friends who have a much larger public platform than I, taking time to share the project with their fans. But more than anything, I’m thankful beyond words for what the Lord has done this week.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, for too long I allowed the voice of practicality and reason to govern my life instead of heeding the voice of God. I ignored His voice for longer than I’d like to admit, but one Monday afternoon last September, over homemade tortillas and creamy jalapeno dip at Chuys, I gave in. I decided that day to step out, by faith. (Insert drum fill) Now, fast forward about 4 months. As I sit here today, having walked through the process of recording and releasing “Unshakeable”, I can tell you that obedience, though challenging, is ultimately far more rewarding than it’s counterpart. I am so grateful that God, in His mercy, never gave up on me and kept the door open long enough for me to finally walk through it. He has so graciously done far more than I could’ve ever asked or imagined.
What is it that you know without a doubt God’s asked of you, but for whatever reason, you continue to resist? My encouragement to you today is this: The door will not always be open. The waters will not always be lowered. CRANK the volume on His still small voice and listen. You don’t need all the answers. He’s got them. Just be willing. Take a deep breath and make the first faith-filled step.
“Faithful is He who calls you and He will also bring it to pass.” I Thessalonians 5:24
